The Okaloosa County Property Appraiser’s Office is accepting exemption applications for the 2023 tax year. The statutory deadline for filing an application for all exemptions, including homestead exemption for the 2023 tax year, is March 1, 2023.  For more information on the homestead exemption and how to file electronically, please visit the Exemption section of this website or call (850) 651-7240 or (850) 689-5900.

Brand new for 2023 is the ability to file for homestead online, right here on our website! To do this, search for your property on our Property Search page, and click on “Apply for Homestead Exemption” on your Parcel Summary page.

Mack Busbee, CFA, Your Property Appraiser

Mack Busbee was born and raised in Okaloosa County, graduated from Niceville High School and attended Okaloosa Walton Junior College and University of West Florida. He began working at the Property Appraiser’s office in November of 2000 and ran for office in 2016. Mack is a Certified General Appraiser through the State of Florida and is a Certified Florida Appraiser (CFA) through the Florida Department of Revenue. He is a member of PAAF, Property Appraisers’ Association of Florida.
